About "Mike"

My name is Michael and here is a little about myself !

Ever since I was a little kid I was always tinkering—tearing things apart to see how they operated. I have always been fascinated with building, fixing and creating a wide variety of objects. At 16, I joined the facility maintenance team at John Wood Community College in Quincy Illinois as my first after school job. It was here that I learned the importance of attention to detail and professionalism. Throughout the years I have had multiple jobs but being a Handyman has been the dream. For years I worked on the side for family and friends while holding a full time job.

In 2011 I joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 2018. During that period I worked on the mighty AC-130W as a Hydraulic Specialist. While holding that specialty I became a qualified Crew Chief and then worked on becoming a Flying Crew Chief on the MC-130J. Integrity First, Service Before Self, Excellence In All You Do.

Shortly after departing the Armed Services I joined Proseal America as a Service Engineer, working on food sealing equipment across the country and internationally. I enjoyed my time installing machines but excelled at troubleshooting, repairing and factory line optimization, which required meticulous attention to detail. My time at Proseal was very rewarding but the constant travel didn’t allow me time with my family or to give back to the community.

So I set out to make my dream of being a handyman come true. I worked with a local general contractor during which time, I earned my NCCER Carpentry 1 and 2 Certifications. The experience I gained with the GC was invaluable and I am ready to put it to work for you at "Handyman Mike, LLC".

My passion is providing customers customized service through personal attention.
